These seedlings are sold as bareroot and are 6-10" tall.
Prunus virginiana: A large, deciduous shrub or small understory tree, choke cherry grows 20-30 ft. tall and often forms thickets. Dense clusters of white flowers are followed by red fruit ripening to dark purple from August to September. Shrub or small tree, often forming dense thickets, with dark red or blackish chokecherries.
Uses:
Conservation/Windbreaks Tall shrub for farmstead and field windbreaks, riparian plantings and highway beautification.
Wildlife One of the most important plants for food and cover. Twigs and foliage are heavily browsed by deer.
Agroforestry Products Food - Fruit commonly used for jelly and wine.
Medicinal - Some Prunus species are used as an astringent, for coughs, colds, an antibiotic; for gout and in cancer research.
